Summer is coming, and fingers crossed, so is the sun. Pop up spaces are perfect for activating at short notice and capitalising on a ‘moment’ and a freak British heat wave is certainly one.
Summer is also packed full of other exciting events which are great to attach yourself. 2014 is looking particularly busy, with major sporting events; The World Cup, Wimbledon, The Commonwealth Games, Music festivals such as Lovebox and Found Festival, London Design Week and of course, the school holidays. So with a bit of planning, plus the perfect space you too can be part of the excitement.
Outdoor spaces come alive during the summer months, they’re perfect to take full advantage of the weather and can provide your idea with unparalleled exposure and visibility. From scenic roof tops to a pitch in a busy square these open air canvases are full of potential.
Our favourite outdoor spaces:
Boxpark, The Deck
Looking down on Shoreditch high Street and Bethnall Green Road, the Upper Deck at BOXPARK is ideal for exclusive events, live music and more. Surrounded by some of London’s best retail offerings, this is quite literally the perfect platform to while away long summer days.
Rockwell House
This studio house sits in the buzzing Shoreditch triangle and comes complete with phenomenal views of the surrounding area; including Bishopsgate Tower and the Tea building. The space can be hired with a licensed bar which should come in handy once your guests have climbed its spectacular spiral staircase.
Liverpool One - The Dome
Chavasse Park is the jewel in Liverpool One’s Crown. It’s a perfect oasis for a frenetic city centre, and regularly hosts a spectacular array of events, from the Queen’s Jubilee ‘Prom in the Park’, to swinging Jazz festivals and Radio City’s 24 hour breakfast. This grassy dome is the perfect location to showcase your idea in the sun.
Hoxton Square Outdoor Pitch
This cobbled pitch, based in the heart of Hoxton square is the perfect blank canvas for any outdoor retail, or food and beverage offering. The square is flanked by upcoming restaurants and dynamic media and advertising agencies. This is the perfect place to test your idea in front of the culturally cutting edge as creatives.
Triton Square
The Carmody Groarke pavillion at the heart of the square acts as a dramatic backdrop to any daytime or evening activity. You’ll also find yourself on the doorstep of some of the most powerful businesses in Europe including the HQ’s of Debenhams and Santander. There’s also a popular food market that takes place during the week, as well as many innovative pop ups throughout the year.
