From hidden-gems to places to people-watch, from bookshops to beauty spots – here is some inspiration, celebrating the independents in our local neighbourhoods around the world.
This week’s selection has been curated by Daisy Milner and Emily Murfitt, the co-founders of NiiPPY Studios, an undeniably cool yet conscious #slowfashion brand with a street influence. Their collections are made from a combination of sustainably derived materials that are ethically sewn at a factory in East London.
Having just launched a store with Appear Here in Soho, we caught up with the best friends behind the brand to discover where they go for inspiration and intrigue.
FOR DRINKS
“We love Cubana in Waterloo. They have the best drinks, music and people — a guaranteed good night out and you can get your boogie on.”
FOR PEOPLE-WATCHING
“Definitely Primrose Hill. It’s such a peaceful place amongst a busy city, and you’re guaranteed to see the cutest dogs.”
FOR BOOKS
“John Sandoe Books in Chelsea is our favourite. It’s the cosiest snug to discover your next read.”
FOR WELLNESS
“For wellness, we go to the beach at Varenna, Lake Como. Honestly it’s one of the most tranquil, beautiful places we’ve ever been, and so good for the mind.”
FOR SHOPPING
“Paris is the best for vintage shops. Although London is a close second — home to NiiPPY Studios.”
