Featuring the stories from members of the Appear Here community that have paved the way in their respective industries, our Space for Growth series for ‘Today At Apple’ will educate, empower and inspire people to plan their next big move.

Space For Campaigning

How can we combine campaigning with retail? Help refugees started as a local hashtag and is now an international humanitarian movement, using pop ups to champion their message and engage consumers with their mission. Josie will take us through the Help Refugees story and how she immersed her customers by bringing her message to life in her Choose Love pop-up stores. Josie will give practical advice on how to champion your brand mission without compromising on retail experience. Josie will teach participants the tips and tricks she’s learnt along the way, as well as how she used design and aesthetic to create a space for campaigning that became synonymous with the joy of shopping.

How can we use space to unite a community and create an inclusive environment to inspire and elevate individuals? EJDER was grown out of a need for a community safe space and has grown into one of London's top streetwear brands with a following of nearly 60 thousand and spaces across London. Having previous experience as a youth worker, EJDER combines retail with social principles of youth empowerment and opportunity. Simon will impart his teachings on how brands can use pop-ups to promote up-and-coming talent, as well as how to use space to engage with a community.

After fleeing a successful restaurant in Damascus, Imad has launched pop up restaurants across London, with the help of Gemma who has helped elevate restaurants such as Padella and Ottolenghi. Imad will be discussing the story behind his restaurant alongside hospitality expert Gemma Bell, who will recount her work with #CookforSyria, Unicef and Imad’s Syrian Kitchen. Attendees will gain valuable insights on how to PR their own brand and how to scale their story from an idea to a business.
