In contrast to the bright colours of the clothing, the decor inside the store is pared back allowing the products to do the talking. White washed walls, opaque screens and exposed wood surfaces create a serene atmosphere. Located on Shoreditch High Street, opposite the iconic TEA Building and Boxpark, Glassworks Studios has become a favourite shopping spot for East London’s creative community.

Tucked away behind Homerton station, Hatch showcases some of the best under-the-radar indie brands and enterprises. Here, the stories of the makers and the craft behind their products are the stars of the show. The space also aims to encourage small business growth, whether that’s through fueling them with an in-house coffee shop or offering them desk space to work from. The lineup of brands in Hatch is constantly changing. They’ve had everything from a barbers to a porridge bar, wood carving workshops to an exhibition of handmade soy candles.
Filled from floor to ceiling with upcycled furniture, retro ornaments and an eclectic collection of armchairs, Hatch wants you to make yourself at home. With a resident cafe showcasing some of London’s best new food brands and super fast wifi, many end up staying here all day. Our favourite part has to be the mismatched, frontage, made from recycled window frames, which has made it onto countless instagram posts.
