AGOLDE is a new hand-crafted premium denim brand based in downtown Los Angeles. Designed by the visionary Jerome Dahan, the label has been created for people who are moving, searching, creating, which means it’s jeans are some of the most comfortable around. Made locally in Los Angeles, each pair is constructed using innovative fabrics from around the world to best fit AGOLDE's independent spirit. Since launching in 2014, it has gained many celebrity fans including Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Chanel Iman, Courtney Kardashian, and Olivia Wilde.
For London Fashion Week, AGOLDE will be launching its first UK pop-up shop in Topshop Oxford Circus, from the 14th – 28th Feb. Showcasing their Spring 2016 collection, you’ll be able to shop some of their favourite styles including high rise skinny jeans and crops. We caught up with AGOLDE’s CEO, Amy Williams to find out more about their journey from LA to London.
What appealed to you about Topshop as a location for AGOLDE’s pop-up?
This is AGOLDE's first pop-up in the UK and we're thrilled to be able to host it inside Toyshop's flagship for our debut of the collection. The Topshop Oxford Circus store seemed like the obvious first choice: the space is much more than a traditional retail store, consisting of five floors of immersive fashion that sets the bar high for fashion and retail. It's truly a mecca for cool girls who embody that independent fashion spirit, which aligns perfectly with our AGOLDE customer.
Why is London a key city for you to have a retail presence in?
London is an important fashion hub and market for AGOLDE. We see the UK as a prime source of inspiration as the Brits have such a unique and original sense of style. We are especially excited to launch the pop-up during London Fashion Week, where show-goers can pop-in and view the new AGOLDE offerings.
What should we expect to discover when visiting your stall?
The AGOLDE assortment on display will consist of two beloved Spring 2016 styles including the ultra-flattering Sophie High Rise Skinny available in a distressed blue wash, a clean black, and ripped black denim, as well as the Sophie Crop High Rise Skinny which comes in a light blue and grey both with a raw hem, in addition to a medium blue distressed wash. Upon purchasing any of the AGOLDE products on display, they will receive a gift with purchase of an AGOLDE graphic t-shirt.
What sets AGOLDE apart from other denim brands?
AGOLDE is designed and handcrafted locally at our in-house laundry and manufacturing facilities in Los Angeles. Greatly inspired by youth culture, AGOLDE embodies the irreverent attitude and creative spirit fostered by an LA upbringing. This "going against the grain" attitude is very apparent throughout the collection, making the brand stand apart from the rest. Each season, the line honors individuality and confidence without compromising comfort. We will always continue to utilize the most innovative fabrics sourced from around the world, making the quality and fit the best in its class.
What else is on the horizon for AGOLDE in 2016?
We have some exciting things in the pipeline for AGOLDE! We plan to launch a biannual editorial magazine called EIGHTY-NINE set to be available later this year. The concept behind this new publication is to highlight youth culture, creativity, and individuality. We also look forward to continuing to create a collection that speak to fashion-forward millennials with our modern denim fits that nod to the best of decades past.
