It’s no secret, Beyond Retro a love naff knit. But this year they're doing something a little different. For Christmas, Beyond Retro has launched their very first pop up shop and London’s only store dedicated to the must-have accessory - the notorious novelty Christmas jumper - in support of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper day. Beyond Retro will donate £1, for every Christmas jumper sold in their UK Stores and have pledged to donate £10,000 in total to Save the Children’s cause. ’Tis the season of good will, as Victoria Plum, Beyond Retro’s Head of Marketing commented:
“I think the best moment will be after Christmas, when we'll donate £10,000 to Save the Children. That moment is going to be pretty special.”
Christmas is also the season for having fun and Beyond Retro’s Christmas pop up is certainly that. Describing their store as “full on vintage festive fabulous!” Beyond Retro have transformed Unit 2 in Old Street Station into a “veritable vintage wonderland.” Enter this tinsel strewn store and you’ll discover everything from Nordic pullovers, to Nana-style knits, 3D sweaters festooned in fairy lights and glitzy vintage frocks.
Commenting on the experience so far Victoria said:
“We've had a phenomenal response, people have literally been going mad for our Christmas jumpers! We've also taken great delight in converting a few Scrooges we've happened to come across, curiosity ends up getting the better of them and they get lured in store by the fantastic festive spectacle that is our Christmas Pop-Up Shop.”
We’re sure this fabulously festive bazaar will tease a smile out of even the Scroogiest of shoppers and will certainly make commuting this Christmas that bit more exciting. The store will be open from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 11:30am until 6pm on Saturday at Unit 2, Old Street Station until Saturday December 20th.
